Matthew Leonard is the Chief Operating Officer for ATB Cormark Capital Markets and a member of the Executive Committee. In this role, Matthew is responsible for the firm’s daily operations and strategic planning, ensuring internal infrastructure and processes are optimized to support long-term growth and external market expansion.

Matthew brings nearly 30 years of financial leadership experience to the firm. He previously spent over 27 years with a major Canadian financial institution, serving as Managing Director and COO in Global Capital Markets. During his tenure, he was instrumental in modernizing trading platforms and overseeing large-scale global operations. Most recently, Matthew served as a strategic leader in the fintech space, spearheading the Canadian market entry for a global digital payments firm. He specializes in scaling financial services through disciplined execution and building strong business partnerships.

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph and is a CFA Charterholder.
