Chris Maurer

Head of Equities, ATB Securities Inc.

Chris Maurer is the Head of Equities for ATB Capital Markets, where he is responsible for leading and growing our firm’s institutional equity sales, trading and research teams. Chris has over 20 years of experience in institutional equity sales and trading, most recently at a Canadian chartered bank for the last 11 years, where he was an Executive Director in Institutional Equity Sales and was consistently recognized as a thought leader and top performer in the industry. Prior to that, Chris was a Vice President at a major global financial institution, after the Boutique Investment Bank he was a principal at was acquired by them in 2009. 

Chris is a graduate of the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary where he received his Bachelor of Commerce in Finance (with distinction). Chris maintains a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) designation along with a Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designation.
