Enrolling in two-factor authentication (2FA)
- When you log in to ATB Business for the first time, you’ll be prompted to select a 2FA method (SMS/text or email) and enroll in 2FA.
- On the Two-factor authentication page, choose your preferred contact method for receiving one-time passcodes: Mobile phone (to receive text messages) or Email and click Continue.
- For Mobile phone, enter the Mobile phone number you want to associate with account access and click Continue. For Email, we’ll use the address we have on file for your account or ask you to enter a new one. If you need to change the email associated with your ATB Business profile, give our Client Care team a call at 1-877-363-4855.
- You'll then receive a 6-digit verification code by the contact method you specified. Enter [your] code and click Continue. If you didn't receive a code, you can click Resend code or click Back to check if your phone number was entered correctly.
- Success! You’ve enrolled in two-factor authentication.
Updating two-factor authentication settings
- In ATB Business, click the person icon on the top right of your screen to access the profile menu.
- Click Profile & Settings, then click Enhanced Security.
- Click Update settings under Two-factor authentication to switch to email or mobile phone, or change your mobile phone number.
Logging in with 2FA
- On ATB Business, log in as usual.
- You’ll be asked to Confirm your identity using two-factor authentication. Just like when you set up 2FA, a 6-digit verification code will be sent to your mobile phone or email. Enter [that] code and click Submit.
- Congrats, you’re in! Once you complete the 2FA verification, you’ll be brought to your ATB Business Accounts Summary page.
Two-factor authentication provides the opportunity to make your accounts more secure than ever. For anyone who’s shared their login credentials in the past, this may seem inconvenient—but we’ve created a solution. Simply create a new user on your business bank account and they’ll have their own unique username, password and 2FA settings, plus you can control their access to and permissions on the accounts.
