How to set approval rules for subuser roles on ATB Business
Learn how to set approval rules for subuser roles on the ATB Business online banking platform.
Approval rules for subuser roles
A subuser is any user associated with a business role that's not the Corporate Admin.
As with the Corporate Admin, let's look at the approval rules for Interac e-Transfers for a subuser as an example:
- In ATB Business, click Admin in the main navigation, then click Roles.
- From the list of roles displayed, click any role that's not the Corporate Admin.
- Click Services & Permissions to see an overview of all of the services and permissions assigned to this role.
- Under Interac e-Transfers, click Send.
- Under Interac e-Transfers Send Permissions, you’ll see the approval rules set for the subuser role. To change this approval rule, click Edit role.
- Click Next to skip changing the Role name and Role description (unless you want to edit these as well).
- Return to Interac e-Transfers Send Permissions. Approval rule options of applying a Single approval workflow, a Dual approval workflow (where two approvers will be required) or Deny, where transactions will simply be denied if certain conditions are met. Select your preferred option
- Set the amount limits for a single transaction and daily transaction total. When these limits are hit by users assigned to this role, the approval workflow is triggered.
- Select the roles that can approve these transactions. Any users assigned to those roles, as well as the Corporate Admin, will be able to approve any Interac e-Transfer transactions sent by this role.
- When you're done, click Next. This will take you to a verification screen where you can see all of the changes that you've made to that role. Click Save edits to confirm.
The approval rules for all the other payment functionalities under Services & Permissions will look the same and can generally be edited in the same way. The exception is when there are mandated approvals.
Mandated approvals
When a mandated approval rule is applied by ATB, then all users (Corporate Admin included) are subject to that approval. In the example of a wire payment, there could be a mandated approval rule that any Canadian wire that's of any amount more than zero will trigger an approval workflow to the assigned roles. If you want to change a mandated approval, contact your Relationship Manager.
