Message from Curtis Stange, President & CEO, ATB Financial
An update to our customers about COVID-19.
By Curtis Stange 16 March 2020
I know you’ve been receiving a lot of these types of notes, and it can be hard to make sense of all the information coming at you with regard to the ongoing spread of COVID-19.
I wanted to be thoughtful about when I personally reached out, and now is the time. In 1938, ATB was created to provide hope. Today, more than ever, we are committed to that. We know that we are an essential service for Albertans and Alberta businesses so while our approach to serving you may need to change, our commitment to you will not. We are actively creating plans to ensure ATB continues to operate in a safe, secure and trusted way for people who are depending on us, including the development of credit relief programs like payment deferrals.
For the time-being, our branches are open Monday to Friday during regular business hours. However, with the cancellation of classes for all students across the province, some of our team members will be taking care of children at home. Others will be self-isolating after returning from travel outside Canada. This could impact our ability to open branches as this health challenge grows. In the interest of the health and well-being of our team members and customers, we have made the decision to no longer offer Saturday and extended hours at our branches during this time. We are hopeful that this decision will not impact your ability to bank with us and we want to make sure that banking with ATB is easy, convenient and available to you when and where you need it.
Our online banking lets you confidently do your banking from the comfort and convenience of your home and our mobile banking app gives you the flexibility to bank on the go. Our automated banking machines (ABMs) are operating normally, so that you can withdraw, deposit and use them at your convenience. Our client care centre is also open 24/7 at 1-800-332-8383 and our ATB team is here to make sure your experience is a good one. The most up-to-date information on our operations can be found on ATB.com.
Thank you for understanding and for placing your trust in ATB. During this challenging time, we will work hard to give you the confidence and service you need in your bank. We will continue to provide timely updates on ATB.com and I encourage you to seek additional information and advice by visiting Alberta Health Services.
Together, we will get through this.
